What are the memories you most treasure?  The ones that stay archived in your mind?  Make the choice to be mindful, engaged and present in your life because this is what gives our lives depth.  Being mindful means dwelling deeply in the present moment and we can often miss these things because we tend to focus our attentions on what’s going to happen in the future, or on things that have happened in the past.  Look for and savour the moments happening all around you every day and use these to guide your vision of success.

Before you start striving for success, is important to identify exactly what that means to you and how you will measure the way success is unfolding for you.  There is no set definition for success – it is simply what matters most to you in any given moment but it is crucial to identify your own success criteria because achieving success and consequently feeling successful, is where you want to be investing your energy and effort every day.  So here are some questions to ask yourself:

* How does success feel to you?

* How would you define success in one sentence?

* How would you measure your success ever day?

It is important to recognise that the choices you make every day determine how successful you are going to be moving forward.  Once you work this out, you will be more able to tap into your feeling of success so that you can remain motivated and inspired.

Examples of what success might mean to you:

  •  Success means freedom of choice in my daily life.
  • Success is the ability to earn a living from work that I’m passionate about.
  • Success means living a purposeful life.
  • Success means approving of myself and what I’m doing each day.
  • Success means having…
  • Success means doing…

Success means living the life I choose, having the people and things I want in my life and feeling free.
